The Western Michigan Yachting Association (WMYA), and volunteers from the Muskegon Yacht Club (MYC), have been actively planning for the upcoming 89th Annual WMYA Championship Regatta to be sailed on Muskegon Lake August 1st – 4th. The WMYA regatta is a family focused regatta that rotates through six pristine lakes in Western Michigan. With over 150 boats anticipated, the WMYA regatta is set to be the largest sailing event on Muskegon Lake in 2018.

Although the highly competitive sailing will be center stage, Muskegon Yacht Club and an ongoing schedule of social events will serve to round out this historical venue that started in 1929 at Muskegon Yacht Club. The social events include casual barbeques, welcome party, kid’s party and conclude with the Commodore’s Ball on Friday night. Social events are open to sailors and landlubbers alike. Early registration is encouraged as key events are likely to sell out. Details of the social events are outlined below. Additional regatta information and registration can be found at http://www.wmya.org/
